General day-to-day shoeing

Hot or Cold
The difference between these shoes are only for myself really. The steel is much easier to shape when it is hot and it doesn't make any difference to the pony/horse. Young ponies/horses are normally done cold to start with, as the smoke can startle them and then as they trust and understand you, we start to do them hot.

Foot trimming
This is where the foot (hoof) is trimmed back to balance and level the foot to the correct HPA (Hoof Pastern Axis). This keeps the foot in a safe working order and is the most important part of the job! No foot, no horse!

Show plates
This includes raceing plates and shoes for shows/dressage. They are light weight shoes or aluminium shoes.

Any remedial work i.e.
- Bar shoes (Heart bars, egg bars and straight bars)
- Glue-on Shoes (Mainly for Laminitic ponies who are too sore to nail a shoe on)
- Lateral Extensions (Help build up the foot that has had a problem to return back to normal)
- Built-up Shoes (Raised heels for arthritic ponies/horses, tendon problems or navicular cases)

Happy to work alongside vets and share knowledge and information to get the job done to the best of all our abilities.
